Our own staff journalist, Sean Nurse, received no less than four awards at the ceremony. He was awarded the runner-up spot in the Newspaper Motoring category while also claiming the Motorcycling Journalist of the Year honours.
Later in the evening, he received the AA Road Safety Feature of the Year award while the most prestigious of his achievements has to be the Bridgestone/SA Guild of Motoring Journalists’ Steve Dlamini Award for Excellence in Motoring Journalism.
“This is the fifth year of our sponsorship of this prestigious and important award and I’m happy to say that Sean is a fine example of the kind of enterprising young motoring journalist that Steve was and we’re proud to continue to be associated with this important guild award,” said Mike Halforty, CEO, Bridgestone South Africa.
Nurse is a graduate of the University of Pretoria, where he earned a BA degree in languages and journalism in 2012. He was the recipient of the annual SA Guild of Motoring Journalists bursary in 2013. He is now a full-time motoring writer here at Autodealer.
