SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The Department of Arts and Culture, in conjunction with the Library and Information Association of South Africa (Liasa), has declared that South African Library Week (SALW) 2020 will be celebrated from 16 to 22 March.
The theme will be Libraries: Your Partners for Life.
In celebration of SALW 2020, the WCED's Education Library and Information Services (Edulis), in partnership with NB Publishers, offers an exciting opportunity for one WCED school to win library books to the value of R2 000 for their school library.
Schools are encouraged to enter the competition electronically and answer the following questions:
- Describe what you have planned for SALW 2020.
- What are the objectives of your planned event / exhibition?
- Who is your target audience and how do your SALW 2020 activities impact on them?
- Why do you think the judges should consider your school library for the prize?
The closing date is 24 April. The winner will be notified telephonically or via e-mail by 7 May. The winner will be announced and the prize handover will take place on 21 May at Edulis during NB Publishers' School Librarian Day.
