Youngsters from Thembalethu and two kids from Bethesda children's home were treated to a tour of Cocomos Restaurant where they learned how a restaurant works and the highlight was for each child to make their own delicious pizza.
From there the group went to Kleinkrantz where they played beach games with the local youth, created mirror mosaics from materials they collected on the beach and also swam in the pool.
The day ended with drumming, dancing and fun around the fire.
The day was truly culturally diverse and brought together Canadians, two Wilderness girls and two German volunteers, Johanna and Johannes who have been helping Project Colors with flooring, roofing, painting, murals, crèche teaching, and of course working with the Colors youth, teaching them the importance of volunteerism in their everyday lives.
Project Colors is a Canadian NGO active in Costa Rica, Madagascar, Dominican Republic and South Africa and will be celebrating its 10th birthday in 2013. Project Colors works tirelessly to inspire children and youth to make the world a better place. For more go to www.projectcolors.com.
