GEORGE NEWS - Our Electrotechnical Services Directorate continues to work on repairs and we will update as they are completed.
Extreme rain and flooding have caused extensive damage to the power network.
The following areas have been restored:
- CBD
- Saasveld
- Tamsui MS HOPS
- Wilderness
Areas currently with power outages:
1. Pacaltsdorp outage – MS SCHUBERT Estimated time of repair 20:00
2. Wilderness Seven Passes - teams still engaged with cutting down vegetation. No estimated time of repair as of yet.
3. Geelhoutboom Du Toit line – teams still working, no estimated time of repairs of yet.
4. Zone 7, Thembalethu – Estimated time of repair 14:00
5. Victoria Bay – Estimated time of repair 14:00
Update at 14:55: Power restored to Victoria Bay however, there are still a few individual customer complaints, it would seem that lightning has damaged a few pole transformers. Electricians are working on the problem.
