Update

GEORGE NEWS - The local community is being requested to continue consuming water sparingly as George Municipality continues to repair pipe bursts on Eastern and Western Lines.

There is currently sufficient water to all areas as reservoirs had opportunity to refill overnight. It is important that water is used for most essential purposes only so that there is enough time for reservoirs to refill and provide the necessary water pressure to all areas.

If all goes according to plan, repairs on the Eastern line will be completed towards early evening today (5pm-6pm). Once water has filled up sufficiently in reservoirs, water pressure should stabilise in all areas.

Repairs on the Western Line may take a few days, but alternative lines have been temporarily redirected to assist with supply. 

The municipality appeals to all users to use water sparingly to support supply to all areas.
