GEORGE NEWS - A fisherman (49) went missing at the Gwaiing River mouth after he was allegedly washed off the rocks by waves during spring tide on Saturday 31 March.
According to NSRI Wilderness duty controller, Mike Vonk, fellow anglers suspect that the local man was fishing on the shoreline when he was washed off the rocks.
“He was last seen drifting in a Westerly direction,” he said.
Emergency services including NSRI Wilderness, George Fire and Rescue Services, Western Cape Government Health EMS and local police, were still searching for the man yesterday.
