GEORGE NEWS - Duke is a handsome four-year-old crossbreed with a heart as big as his smile. This wonderful boy is incredibly well-mannered, friendly, and sociable with both people and other dogs. He's the kind of dog who fits into most situations with ease and simply enjoys being part of the family.
Over his time in the SPCA's care, Duke has formed strong bonds with the people who look after him.
As a result, he has developed some separation anxiety and finds it difficult when left alone for extended periods. This isn't uncommon for dogs who have experienced change, uncertainty, or long shelter stays – they often become especially attached to the people who make them feel safe and secure.
Because of this, Duke is looking for a home where he won't be left on his own for long hours every day.
He would thrive with someone who is home often, enjoys canine companionship, and is willing to give him the time, patience, and reassurance he needs while settling into his new life.
The good news? Duke is worth every bit of effort. He is loving, eager to please, and deeply devoted to his people. We also have a behaviourist available to assist his future family through the transition and help set everyone up for success.
Duke isn't looking for perfection – he's simply looking for someone who understands that trust takes time and that some dogs need a little extra support as they learn that they're finally home.
If you have a secure yard, a loving heart, and room in your life for a loyal best friend, Duke could be the companion you've been searching for.
