Update
GEORGE NEWS - Following this morning’s protest action in Thembalethu, representatives of the GO GEORGE bus service, Uncedo taxi association and municipal officials met at George Municipality to discuss Uncedo’s grievances.
According to Municipal Spokesperson Chantel Edwards-Klose, the various spheres of government are currently engaging the relevant stakeholders with regard to the respective issues raised.
“The media will be briefed as soon as it is possible to do so,” said Edwards-Klose.
Meanwhile, all seems calm in the township. The bridge to Thembalethu and the access road to the N2 are open for traffic.
GO GEORGE service remain suspended.
