GEORGE NEWS - An employee of a financial services business in the CBD was shot in the leg during an armed robbery at approximately 11:00 today, Monday 15 November.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Capt Malcolm Pojie, three armed suspects allegedly accosted and robbed two employees of a business in Mitchell Street.
The suspects fled and are still at large.
"The two employees withdrew a large amount of cash for their business. Shortly after their return to the business, they were accosted by the three assailants and threatened with a firearm. After taking the cash from the rear seat of the vehicle, one of the suspects shot a 27-year-old employee in his leg. He was transported to a local hospital via ambulance in a stable condition," said Pojie.
