GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - The manhunt for the killers involved in last week's shooting incidents in Thembalethu continues, as no arrests have been made.
In the first incident, Thando Mbambo (36) was shot and killed in Tabata Street in Zone 9 on Monday afternoon, 13 May. It is alleged that he was robbed of his firearm after which he was shot in the chest. He died on the scene.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie, eyewitnesses say three suspects, of which two were armed, were involved in this shooting. The victim was robbed only of his firearm; his other belongings were still on him when his body was found.
Approximately 40 minutes later a man known as Thembinkosi Yeni (24), was shot and killed, two men, aged 18 and 19, were shot and injured and one man managed to flee the scene near the ravine between Zone 9 in Thembalethu and Rosedale.
They were on their way from Lawaaikamp to Rosedale when they were allegedly ambushed by two armed men.
The 18-year-old was later found in Rebecca Street in Rosedale where he had collapsed. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen and chest. The 19-year-old was found in the ravine with a gunshot wound to his leg and Yeni's body was found in the ravine by a passer-by the following day, Tuesday 14 May.

Pojie says it is unclear whether the incident in Thembalethu is related to the one in the ravine. Although it is believed that in both cases the motive could have been robbery, every possibility is being investigated.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigating officer, Sgt Thembelani Kima of Thembalethu detectives, on 072 310 8014.
The body of a man was found next to the N2 in the ravine between Thembalethu and Rosedale.
