GEORGE NEWS - A stolen vehicle was recovered in George last night at about 18:00 by members of the Garden Route Flying Squad.
Sgt Christopher Spies said members conducting patrols near the N2 highway responded to a distressed call after a vehicle was allegedly hijacked by a man and woman in Thembalethu earlier.
“The members swiftly responded when they spotted the vehicle, an Opel Corsa, traveling along Knysna Road. They brought the vehicle to a halt and the occupants were unable to account for their possession thereof. Police seized the vehicle and arrested the pair.”
The suspects aged 24 and 32 remain in police custody. They will appear in the local magistrates’ court once charged.
“The circumstances surrounding the hijacking forms part of an ongoing police investigation,” said Spies.
