Update
GEORGE NEWS - Last week the Thembalethu Regional Court heard testimonies from a number of witnesses who told the court how Avuye Thyuthuza (15) was brutality murdered by five suspects in Thembalethu on Easter Sunday, 1 April 2018.
The suspects, Mveliso Nomsotha, Thabang Thebeneng, Sibusiso Mini, Luphumlo Bhonyo and Lisakhanya Mhambi, appeared in court wearing white T-shirts throughout the week. The case was postponed to 27 and 28 March for the testimony of the doctor who performed the autopsy on Avuye and for the five suspects to testify.
Last week in a packed courtroom all five suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder.
The suspects allegedly belong to a group called Milanos, that stabbed and killed Avuye not far from his home in Thembalethu.
At the time of his death, Avuye was a Grade 9 learner at PW Botha College. According to one of his friends who was with him on the night and witnessed the incident, Avuye's murder was driven by jealousy of his fashionable clothes.
