GEORGE NEWS - The man charged with murdering his wife in a local guest house in April last year, will make his next court appearance on Tuesday 9 April after further consultation with his legal representative.
Andrew Fleming (42) handed himself over to the police and was arrested on Thursday 27 April 2022 on a charge of murder after his wife, Karen (52), died due to multiple stab wounds at a guest house in Aspeling Street.
He did not opt to apply for bail.
Fleming reported the incident at the George police station shortly after it happened.
George police officers were dispatched to the scene at about 09:50. On arrival they found the victim with multiple stab wounds in a bedroom. She was declared dead by medical personnel on the scene, and the man was arrested.
The motive for the murder forms part of the investigation and will in all likelihood be revealed in court as the trial progresses.
The Flemings are originally from the Eastern Cape.
They moved to George where Andrew was apparently the owner of a local solar panel business in George.
