Update
GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality's senior manager for community safety, Lee-Anne Meiring, confirmed this morning that arrests have been made after alleged stolen municipal paving bricks were found at two homes in Rosemoor yesterday, Wednesday 25 September.
"George Municipality undertook a joint operation yesterday concerning stolen municipal property. Arrests have been made and due process will be followed relating to the criminal charges laid," she said.
These arrests follow after police, municipal law enforcement and local traffic officials clamped down on houses in Woltemade Street and Truter Street late yesterday afternoon.
With George Herald's arrival on the scene in Truter Street, officials were lifting the paving bricks from a driveway.
Authorities have recently had their hands full with locals who help themselves to sidewalk paving; make dangerous and illegal electrical connections and threaten municipal teams on after-hour call-outs to render services.
