GEORGE NEWS - Repair of water infrastructure in Meyer and First Street will have an impact on residents and road users for estimated period from 25 - 26 July.
The scope of works consists of open-trench excavations for the construction of a new pipeline crossing Meyer Street, due to a major pipe burst that occurred on Wednesday, 22 July.
Services disruption
Municipal water services, as well as traffic will be affected on these days in order to connect the new pipeline. A water outage is planned from 08:00 – 17:00 on both days.
Affected streets are First and Meyer Streets and a water truck will roam the affected area.
Working hours
Saturday and Sunday: 08:00 to 17:00
Traffic impact
Residents, road users and pedestrians need to exercise caution throughout the duration of the construction period.
Please adhere to flag persons, temporary road signage indicating road closures and detour routes, they will endeavor to allow access to residents as far as possible.
