ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The DR Mother Church in George was packed on Friday evening 4 September for 19-year-old Maja Snyman’s first live concert, Music of the Night. The concert was a tribute to The Phantom of the Opera and other musical masterpieces.
The response was so overwhelming that concertgoers battled for up to 15 minutes to find parking, ending up in Kerk Street outside the premises.

The atmosphere inside the church was equally fitting for an evening inspired by The Phantom of the Opera and other great musical masterpieces.
Maja, known as Maja Rey on social media, looked every inch the part in her dramatic red gown, while her selected repertoire helped create what felt like a complete theatrical production.
Maja is a young influencer who has built an audience of over 370 000 followers accross social media, using her platform to share violin performances and bridge online content with live community shows.

She was joined on stage at the DR Mother Church by Petronel Baard, who performed alongside her on piano and vocals, adding another dimension to the production.
