Day of Older Persons
Today, 1 October, the George Service Clubs Utility Company (GSCUC), a popular and well known retirement centre in the heart of George, joins seniors across the world in celebrating International Day of Older Persons. GSCUC Manager Juanita van Wyk says due to a variety of reasons many older persons in South Africa are unaware of their rights and how to enforce them. "For the GSCUC it is a day to show the public that seniors or older persons can still be active and creative, making quality articles and products.
