GEORGE NEWS - Royal Swimming Academy member Hannah Murray has been selected by Swim South Africa (SSA) to join the National Open Water training squad.
Hannah has been invited to join the SSA national junior youth squad having qualified in the 3km open water event.
Only eight men and eight women were selected in each category.
The criteria for selection to the junior youth category were based on year of birth 2002-2003 (15 and 16 years) as well as the finishing place at the 2018 National Open Water Swimming Championships.
Hannah will now attend the SSA National Open Water Squad training camp which will be held in Durban from 24 to 30 June. Hannah is one of only 69 South African open water swimmers from youth to senior level to be invited.
The short-term goal for the junior youth squad is participation at the CANA Zone IV Championships (African Swimming Confederation).
