GEORGE NEWS - This year's EdenXtreme u.15 Waterpolo Tournament was highlighted by icy temperatures, a beautiful snow-capped mountain and steam rising from the heated pool, creating a surreal Scandinavian effect. The conditions served to bring out the indomitable spirit of the young players.
The participants were Paul Roos (Stellenbosch), Pearson (Port Elizabeth), represented by the boys and girls winners of the 2017 competition, the invitational team Manta Rays, Oakhill (Knysna), and the George schools Outeniqua High, York High and Glenwood House.
The Glenwood boys' side had some exceptionally gifted players, and finished 4th out of 6 teams with Oakhill from Knysna taking the trophy.
The girls beat Pearson in a hard-fought final, showing an indomitable spirit.
The whole tournament was characterised by sportsmanship, maturity and camaraderie, and Glenwood is happy about a very successful event.
