GEORGE SWIMMING NEWS - Nine Royal Swimming Academy athletes participated at the recent Swim South Africa Level 3 Regional Age Group Championships in Oudtshoorn, with impressive results.
The Royal team consisted of Danelle Bosman, Marnis Grobler, Michelle Human, Lia Kotzé, Marnus Kotzé, George Marais, Kodi Minnie, Matthew Seabrook and Veneske Steenkamp.
In the girls division they finished 16th out of 29 teams while the boys came third out of 33 teams and the combined team was of ninth out of the 36 participating teams.
The medal winners were:
- Danelle Bosman (50m backstroke - silver, 100m backstroke - silver, 200m backstroke - gold);
- Marnis Grobler (200m freestyle - bronze, 200m backstroke - bronze);
- Michelle Human (100m breaststroke - gold, 50m breaststroke - gold, 200m breaststroke - silver);
- Marnus Kotzé (100m fly - silver, 200m individual medley - silver);
- George Marais (50m backstroke - gold, 100m backstroke - bronze, 50m fly - gold);
- Kodi Minnie (400m freestyle - bronze);
- Matthew Seabrook (200m freestyle - silver, 100m breaststroke - gold, 50m backstroke - gold, 100m fly - gold, 100m freestyle - silver, 50m breast-stroke gold, 100m backstroke - gold, 200m individual medley - gold, 200m breaststroke - gold, 200m backstroke - silver, 50m fly - silver).
