GEORGE NEWS - Those who have been eagerly anticipating the announcement of the SWD Eagles team that will take on the EP Elephants tomorrow evening, Friday 1 April, can now start rooting for their favourites.
The team has been announced and they are Stefaan Grundlingh, Gihard Visagie, Heinrich Roelfse, Anton Smit, Armand Grobler, PJ Toerien, Mitchell Carstens, Shaun Raubenheimer (captain), Dillin Snel, JP Duvenhage, Adi Jacobs, Edwin Sass, Regan van der Westhuizen, Ezrick Alexander and Lungelo Gosa.
The reserves are Stephan Leonard, Mogamat-Raeez Salie, Alwyn Carstens, Freginald Africa, Khanya Ncusane, Deon Carstens, Kirsten Heyns and Nhlanhla Ngcamu.
Excitement for the match is running high as it is the Eagles’ first match in the 2022 Currie Cup 1st Division, as well as a new chapter for coach Anton Moolman, who was appointed in February.
Kick-off time is at 19:00 at Outeniqua Park, but the gates will open at 17:00. Spectators will be limited to 2 000 due to current Covid protocols. Tickets cost R30 for adults and R10 for learners and can be bought at the ticket office at the stadium.
