Dreyer fractured his wrist during last weekend’s 45-10 win over the Kings in Port Elizabeth and left the field late in the match to be replaced by Jacques van Rooyen.
The Lions later confirmed that Dreyer will go under the knife on Tuesday morning. This morning the Joburg team released a statement that Dreyer will be out for six months.
That means he will only be ready by the end of October which effectively means the end of his season.
