The Boks were never a happy crowd in Cardiff last year, having privately admitted before the final game of their tour that they never had wanted to play an extra game outside the international window, and had to go into the match without their European based players, who were recalled by their clubs. Contrast that to the Welsh, who saw the opportunity for a Bok scalp and had arranged for their European players to be involved, and it was a recipe for disaster.
This is, of course, not even taking into account the effect of the knee ligament horror injury suffered by captain Jean de Villiers and the dubious yellow card for Cornal Hendricks, meant that the Boks were rather vulnerable on the night and Warren Gatland will be hoping for a similar situation this weekend when the two teams meet once again.
