GEORGE RUGBY NEWS - Thembalethu-based rugby side Black Lions were up against the Pacaltsdorp side Young Roses on Saturday afternoon, 12 July, at the Thembalethu rugby field in a President League game. Black Lions defeated Young Roses with a humiliating score of 38-0.
From the start of the game Black Lions showed their superiority, staying on the attack and winning all the balls, and they opened the score board.
The visitors from Rosedale had little defence against the strength and speed of their opponents. Black Lions kept scoring and the first half ended 15-0 in their favour.
During the second half Lions introduced fresh legs in the form of Sizwe Mxoli and Bongani Ngonyama. The team's physical strength allowed them to bulldoze their opponents. They kept moving forward, keeping Young Roses on the back foot and continuing to score, with Sizwe Mxoli converting the tries.
