GEORGE NEWS - Ricardo Otto reached a new milestone in his relatively short racing career when he was crowned the South African 600cc motorcycle champion last weekend.
The 17-year-old from George has been honing his craft in regional and club motorcycle racing championships for a few years.
In 2020 he and his team, Otto Racing Team/Power Motorsport, decided to take on the NGK SA SBK Supersport 600cc championship, which was slowed down and shortened slightly by the Covid pandemic.
But everything fell into place at the South African 600cc championship at Redstar Raceway in Delmas last weekend with Ricardo bagging the big one.
What makes his winning streak even more impressive is that there's one full round of the championship still remaining.
Ricardo said the 2020 racing season would not have been possible without the support of Raw Projects and Otto Racing Team/Power Motorsport.
