GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Tomorrow, 14 March 2021, a group of local runners are taking to the old route between George and Mossel Bay to participate in the Two Cities Ultra Marathon.
The concept behind the race is #RunForYourPerson.
The race is run in commemoration of Covid-19 survivors, frontline workers and those who did not survive the virus.
“Many of us who are running today, lost someone to Covid-19, but we are also running as a sign of gratitude for health and survival,” says one of the organisers.
This virtual race can be run anywhere in South Africa.
The start of the race was at the George Showgrounds at 06:00 with the end of the race at Caltex in Voorbaai.
The expected time of completion for runners doing the full 45km is at 12:00.
