In the men's Trips it was Mike Marques, Billy Radloff and Paul Lange who had a tough time against Colin Tilley, Richard Board and Lawson Schroeder (substituting for Les Johnston) to eventually win by 4 shots.
It was only by the 17th end that the renowned Radloff demonstrated his true style and made a break-through to put his team into the lead and so helped them into victory.
In the Ladies' Fours the combination of Jenny Sinclair, Reinette van Zyl, Rosa Crous and Vanessa Francis once again
proved that teamwork and posi-tive resonance can overcome stiff competition against Bev Pollock, Val Nienaber, Editth Clack and Mary Zondagh, the runners-up. The match was concluded with one end spare.
In the meantime the Southern Cape League series is in full swing and sides from the whole district is in battle on a weekly basis on Saturdays.
This competition is in fact a contest between affiliated clubs and winners in the Premier, 1st, 2nd and Reserve Divisions will serve as a pointer as to the relative state of bowls within the participating clubs. Victory in any division will be a feather in the cap for a club and will be an indicator of where the power of bowls lies in the Southern Cape.
The finals will be played at the end of the month.
