GEORGE SPORTS NEWS - Despite some unpleasant weather today, the 56th South African Surf Championship is in full swing at Victoria Bay. The contest started this morning, Friday 28 October, and runs until Sunday.
The premier event is our country’s best of the best; the competition every surfer wants to win.
Eight surfing districts from across the country compete for the overall winning team, and surfers will also be individually competing for the Men’s and Women’s Crown Champions titles.
The 48 men and 24 women participating are talented former and current national team members and champions.
The event is presented by Surfing South Africa, the national governing body for the sport, and hosted by our very own Eden Surfriders.
Spectators are welcome, so make your way down to Vic Bay this weekend to experience some amazing surfing talent. The finals are expected to take place on Sunday.
