SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Cyclists and runners from across the country can start gearing up for the Ladismith Cheese 7Weekspoort MTB and Trail Run Challenge, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, 3 and 4 October.
The event promises one of the most scenic outdoor experiences in the Klein Karoo.
Participants will navigate the historic Seweweekspoort Pass, a gravel road carved through a dramatic sandstone gorge by the Huis River, with towering cliffs and rugged Swartberg foothills providing a spectacular backdrop.
MTB riders can choose from 30km, 43km and 85km routes, while trail runners have the option of 10km or 18km courses.
The event is a community project, with locals eager to welcome visitors and show off the region's natural beauty and hospitality.
The challenge is perfect for both serious competitors and those seeking a memorable outdoor adventure.
With breathtaking landscapes it is set to be a highlight on the province's sporting calendar.
