Green belt 6 kyu grades were awarded to Wade Tiran, Daniel Williams, Leighton Prins, Dylan Hemphill, Kyle Boorman, Robert Pollicutte, Hennie de Ridder and Johan van Zyl.
Ashford Marx received his blue belt, 4th kyu while André Slabbert and Michael McLennan were graded to brown belt 1st kyu.
The grading and Gashuku was conducted by sensei Jannie and Betsie le Grange, Dokukai instructors for the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinkokai in Okinawa.
The annual Kobudo black belt grading will take place in September when an Okinawan instructors team will visit George.
Sensei Jannie will be leaving for Okinawa next week to visit the Honbu dojo in Tomigusuku near Naha City for further training and research in the Okinawan weaponary system.
