GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEOS - The 42km and 21km races have started. The route is from Carpe Diem through York and Courtenay Street on to Knysna Road up to Groenkloof Woods where the turning point is.
The 42km athletes have to complete the route twice.
The first competitors are expected to arrive at the finish in just over an hours.
The 10km race started at 08:00

Joey Gouws who drives from Tergniet every year for the event says she decided that the rain was not going to keep her from being here to cheer the athletes on. She admires their grit and determination.
Zach Legward (in the blue) is attempting the 21km for the first time. He holds five gold medals in the 10km.
