GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - Competitors in the 42km and 21km items of the Outeniqua Chair Challenge have gathered at Carpe Diem School for the start of the race.
It will be a late start as the organisers are still waiting for a few participants to arrive.
The cyclists will be having a challenging race because of the rain. The tyres of the race cycles cause the water to spray right into their faces, affecting visibility.
