Update
GEORGE NEWS - After eight days and 2 350km, the 2018 BMW Motorrad International GS trophy belongs to South Africa for the second time in a row.
The pressure was on this year's team to repeat the country's victory after the win in the 2016 edition in Southeast Asia - and they certainly delivered, managing to protect the lead they brought into the final day. Team South Africa has done the country proud.
Popular local rider Chris Meyer was one of the triumphant threesome who completed the extreme challenges of the circular route on 10 June in Mongolia, ending at Camp Chinisiin Khuree near Ulaanbaatar, where it all began seven days earlier on 3 June.
The SA team members are Eugéne Fourie, Chris Meyer and Mark Dickinson, with Marchant Maasdorp from George as one of the judges.
