GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The seventh edition of the Houtkapper trail run, part of the Knysna Oyster Festival, attracted 445 runners last Sunday. 

Athletes had a choice between a 9km, 15km and 27km race. Conditions could not have been better and this showed in the times. 

Marion Leiberich broke the ladies record in the 15km with a time of 1:13:30. Georgi Minopetros won the men's title in the 27km and Brenna Coupland the ladies title in the 27km.

Runners, their families and fans enjoyed the race village Quintana da Montanha, located in Rheenendal, with activities such as tractor rides, the Kabouter kids race and many more.

Fechters was as always an amazing sponsor, spoiling some runners with the traditional Houtkapper bench and cutting boards and feeding all runners at their water point.
