GEORGE NEWS - Golfers and bowlers can rest assured that the latest municipal Covid-19 regulation that saw the closure of municipal sport facilities, will not affect their favourite sports.
George Municipal Communications Chief Chantel Edwards-Klose told George Herald the regulation does not apply to leased, privately run municipal properties like the George Golf Club or the George Bowling Club.
“The closure is ONLY aimed at the multi code public facilities under direct municipal management and control,” she said. The George Tennis Club will also remain open.
Golfers and bowlers have raised concerns on many a Facebook page about the possibility of being deprived of their main holiday pastimes.
But – for now – these two very popular local sports and major Garden Route tourist attractions, are safe.
