GEORGE BOWLING NEWS - The George Bowling Club recently held its Novice Singles Championship which is open to all bowlers who have been a member for less than three years.
There were nine entrants for this year's championship, which was played over the weekend of 17 and 18 January.
The players were divided into three groups of three for the section playoffs, with each section winner then moving on to the round robin "final".
The standard of bowls was a very high, taking into consideration that all the players have limited experience.
The championship winner was Erwee Harding-Male, with Noel Perrier placed second and Trevor Jones third.
George bowling club has been blessed with a number of new members, with no less than seven qualifying as new bowlers over the past two months.
