GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Local athlete Lloyd Bosman secured another triumph when he won the Investgold Two Lagoons, hosted by Cape Multisport Eden, on Saturday 14 May at Klipheuwel Padstal in Little Brak River. 

The race was initially scheduled for 7 May but with inclement weather and poor visibility on the day, it was moved to last weekend.

A field of about 250 runners started the 21,1km and 10km races. 

Investgold, the main sponsor of the event, sponsored a set of rare metal coins worth R4 500 to the winner, a silver Krugerrand and silver Big Five coin worth R1 600 to the runner-up, and a collector's silver Big Five coin worth R800 to the third-place winner.

They also sponsored the medals that went to the runners.

Special mention to Willem Lubbe (Nedbank SWD) who is the sighter for blind runner Carl de Campos (Nedbank SWD), both finishing with a time of 1:54:05.

There was a water table competition as well, with local businesses and others taking part.

Cape Multisport Club Eden thanks De Dekke Spar (winners of the Investgold Best Water Table 2022) as well at runner-up Pick n Pay Fraaiuitsig, the Freedom Front Plus and the Democratic Alliance for their help and enthusiasm during the race.
