FOOTBALL NEWS - Build It George in collaboration with George Local Football Association (Geolfa) held the two finals of the Build it George Juniors Soccer Festival at the Lawaaikamp Stadium last weekend, 4 to 5 June.
Four members of the Build it staff attended the festival - Darren Hayward, Etienne Stander, Andries Herbst and Jana Heigers. In accordance with the principle 'no youth no future', Build It supports grassroots football across the country.
The tournament starts at local level and progresses to regional level and national championships.
All the teams gave excellent performances. The first final was the u.11 group, where Shukela became the champions, winning 0(2)-0(1) on penalty shoot-outs against Future Stars after the game ended on a goalless draw.

The other final was between Lawaai-kamp's Black Cats u.13 and Vista u.13. The youngsters from Lawaaikamp won the u.13 trophy by defeating Vista 1-0.
The teams that participated in the Build It George Juniors Soccer Festival are:
u.11: George Vultures, Heaven Stars, Vista, Young Killers, Future Stars, Silver Stars, Black Cats, Shukela, Burning Fire Western Tigers and France United.
u.13: All Stars, United Spurs, Silver Stars, Young Masters, France United, Precision Sport Academy, Young Killers, Heaven Stars, Paris United, Blanco United, Blue Hunters, Black Cats, Vista, Western Tigers, Burning Fire and George Celtics.
The u.13 champions, Black Cats, will represent George (LFA) in the Regional Build It Juniors Soccer Festival later this year.
