On Valentines Day,Sunday, there will be no love lost in what is termed MDC Derby Day when Lamontville Golden Arrows (second on the log) and Maritzburg United (fourth) kick-off proceedings at 10am with the a much anticipated KwaZulu-Natal derby.
On the same day Soweto Derby fever will take centre stage when Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs do battle (12noon kick-off) for the very first time in this season’s competition that has now reached it’s penultimate round before the play-offs.
This will be the third MDC festival to be played at the Umlazi venue.
The King Zwelithini Stadium hosted the first ever #Asidlali festival as well as the quarterfinal fixtures in the 2014/15 season.
On Saturday, Bidvest Wits will look to consolidate fifth spot when they take on ninth-placed Jomo Cosmos at 10am while log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns will be aiming to surge closer to the title when they host 12th placed Free State Stars at 12noon.
