GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - Thamsanqa "Torres" Kebe is one of the success stories of school sport development in the Southern Cape.
The vivacious learner from Imizamo Yethu High School in Thembalethu, George, was identified and selected by the Coca-Cola Copa u.15 selectors to play for the National All Stars Coca-Cola Copa u.15 team after his school reached the Western Cape Coca-Cola Copa u.15 finals in Cape Town.
Kebe, a natural centre back, was also selected to represent the Eden Region's u.15 side for the FNB Football First Development Programme, which was recently held at the Nike Sport Centre in Johannesburg.
Kebe played a pivotal role when Imizamo Yethu High School's u.17 soccer team not only reached the finals of the Andile Xelegu's Schools Cup tournament, but were crowned as the champions for the first time.
Kebe is currently playing for Thembalethu's Young Pirates Football Club.
