GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - The George Local Football Association will host one of the biggest football tournaments this coming weekend with 32 teams fighting for the first prize, R15 000 cash.
The George Heritage Football tournament will kick off on Friday 24 September and the last games will be played on 26 September.
According to Geolfa chairman, Mbongeni Kalipa, the tournament is an open football competition and helps clubs in preparing for the upcoming 2021/22 season.
The tournament will be played on different fields around George. Safa Covid-19 rules and regulations will be followed, with only 50 people per field. Each team will be allowed to register 23 players with two technical members.
"Geolfa is expecting every team to bring their thermometers and sanitisers to the field and members will be requested to wear masks. Geolfa members will be visible at all the fields to monitor that Covid-19 regulations are adhered to," said Kalipa.
