SCHOOL SOCCER NEWS - Jonga High School's football team missed the opportunity of going through to the next round when they went down2(4)-2(2) on penalty shoot-outs against Murray High in a thrilling annual Imizamo Yethu High School Sports festival at Imizamo Yethu's sports facilities on Saturday afternoon, 17 May.
Nine high schools took part in this year's soccer festival: Imizamo Yethu (George), Royal Academy (George), Thembalethu High (George), Indwe High (Mossel Bay), Murray High (Plettenberg Bay), Concordia High (Knysna), Jonga High (George), Hillcrest High (Mossel Bay) and Heatherlands High (George).
Lakhiwe Menze played very well throughout the game, creating more opportunities for Jonga High.
Both schools displayed great skills, looking for more chances inside the box.
Lisakhanya Ntlanti of Jonga High had a difficult task of defending against the offensive play from the high-flying Murray High flanks.
This exciting game ended with a 2-2 draw. They had to determine the winner on penalties.
The semi-finals and final game were played during the night.
