GEORGE NEWS - Nine talented young footballers of Southern Academy Football Club in Thembalethu were selected to take part in soccer trials in Verona and Lignano, Italy, during a sport tour from 21 to 30 September this year.
The tour will also visit the historic and breathtaking in Cities of Milan and Venice during the school holidays. This will be the opportunity of a lifetime for the youngsters, who vary in age from 16 to 19 years old.
The boys were selected during a soccer tournament held from 25 to 29 March at the Eden Technical High School sport fields in George.
For the selection, a total of 2 700 hopefuls participated in soccer fests at schools across South Africa.
The boys have to contribute R49 995 per person, which includes accommodation, three daily meals, kit, excursions and international return flights, among others.
Southern Academy Football Club is calling on stakeholders and the communities of George to support their future stars to achieve their football dream.
