GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The FNB Football First Festival for girls will take place this weekend at the FNB Lawaaikamp Stadium in George with no less than twelve representative teams from six local football associations participating in the event.

The festival forms part of the FNB Football First programme, a football development initiative that has been running in Pietermaritzburg, Mthatha, Thohoyandou, George and Kimberley since May 2011.

An opening ceremony will take place at 9:00 today, Saturday, 3 September with group matches being played during the course of the day catering for the U13 to U15 age groups. The semi-finals and finals will be played tomorrow, Sunday, 4 September.
The participating representative teams are from:

• George
• Mossel Bay
• Oudtshoorn
• Plettenberg Bay
• Knysna
• Riversdal
