SOCCER NEWS - On Sunday afternoon, 11 May, Fast Eleven collected some much-needed points when they punished the former Safa Eden Regional League title holders, Bitou Young Pirates, 3-1 in a tough league encounter in the Fast Eleven backyard at the Lawaaikamp Stadium in George.
To win the game, Mkhanyisi Manciya (with a brace) and Masibulele Magobovu scored the three goals for the Fast Eleven team, while Busisa Macala converted the only goal for the Young Pirates team.
Thabiso Mbem of Young Pirates played very well, creating some more opportunities.
So far, Fast Eleven are logged at the bottom of the log table after earning 32 points, and Bitou Young Pirates are currently sitting in the top five spots after accumulating 47 points in 27 games.
The Safa Eden Hollywoodbets Regional League fixture got off to perfect start with the visitors, Bitou Young Pirates, building their moves from the backline.
Siphosethu Sidumo of Fast Eleven launched a positive attack on the right side of the field, but his shot went straight to the Young Pirates goalkeeper, Sive Bangani. Fast Eleven received a set piece on the right side of the field, but their shot was swept away by the Young Pirates defender.
Manciya open the score, making it 1-0, putting his side in the lead after beating goalkeeper Bangani. The Young Pirate’s Macala tried his luck just outside the box, but his shot was saved by Fast Eleven’s shotstopper Mihlali Siko. Macala levelled the score, making it 1-1.
The game sprang to life with both teams battling for the second goal.
Fast Eleven received a set piece just out side the box - Magobovu received a quick pass and he delivered along range shot, scoring the second goal, making it 2-1, putting his side in the lead.
The exciting first half of the game ended on a high tempo, with Bitou Young Pirates looking for their equalising goal.

The second half saw Fast Eleven pressing for more goals. The Young Pirates were herding every ball to the box, looking for their second goal. Buchumile Booysen and Thami Dawethi come in from the bench, working overtime, looking for the equaliser, but the stubborn defenders of Fast Eleven made it difficult for them to score their goal.
The Young Pirates defenders forced a corner kick, and Manciya scored his brace to make it 3-1 with a powerful header from the corner kick ball.
The Plettenberg Bay players were chasing the game, trying to get a second goal at the very least, but again it was not easy for them to break through the Fast Eleven back four.
The game ended with 3-1, Fast Eleven going home with the bragging rights after collecting six points in two matches last weekend.
