GEORGE NEWS - The Geolfa League represent-atives Fast Eleven FC missed out on the perfect chance to qualify for the Safa Eden Hollywoodbets Regional League when they fell short in points during the Safa Eden mini play-offs.
The side ended the season in second position on the Geolfa League log table, but got the opportunity to represent George in the play-offs in Riversdale after first-placed Paris United was disqualified due to pending disciplinary committee cases against them.
Fast Eleven's hopes of playing in the regional league were dashed when they lost 3-2 against Oriented Birds in the final of the play-offs in Riversdale last weekend. La Liga from Knysna and the Oriented Birds development team were promoted to the elite regional league for the 2024/25 season. These promotions now see five teams from Knysna and two teams from Plettenberg Bay playing in the regional league.
The teams that participated in the inter-local football association play-offs were La Liga (Knysna), Oriented Birds (Plettenberg Bay), Fast Eleven (George), Young Stars (Mossel Bay), De Rust United (Oudtshoorn) and FC Kwano (Hessequa/Riversdale).
The six teams playing for first, second and third place in the play-offs were Young Stars vs La Liga, Oriented Birds vs Fast Eleven, De Rust United vs FC Kwano.
