FOOTBALL NEWS - Pacaltsdorp United FC held its annual football tournament during the past long weekend.

The event seeks to promote football development in George communities and keep young people out of unfavourable activities such as drug and alcohol abuse. Black Cats FC from Lawaaikamp emerged as the winners on Monday 24 September at the Parkdene sports ground.

Teams came from as far as Cape Town to take part in the tournament. SA beach soccer star Luyanda Mzolisa, who plays for Pacs, also represented his local team in the tournament.

Cecil Swartbooi, organiser of the tournament, said their dream is to see the event growing beyond the borders of George and they appeal to the community of George and businesses to increase their support of this tournament.
