SOCCER NEWS - Black Cats FC delivered an emphatic performance as they defeated Knysna's La liga 5-2 in a Safa Eden Regional League encounter at the Lawaaikamp Stadium in George on Saturday 2 May.
The Lawaaikamp side signalled their intent early, attacking down the right flank through Keathon van Rooyen.
Although his initial effort was denied, he soon opened the scoring with a powerful strike that beat goalkeeper Athenkosi Myali at the far post.
The Black Cats maintained pressure on the visitors.
Mphumzi Kalolo doubled the lead following a swift move from midfield. Despite Luzipo Sesethu and Ayavuya Kelemana's efforts to regain control, the home side continued to dominate.
Oyisa Jantjies added a third goal just before half-time, giving the Black Cats a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
La liga responded with urgency in the second half, and Sesethu pulled one back to make it 3-1. However, their attacking approach left gaps at the back, which the Black Cats exploited as Kalolo netted his second goal of the match to extend the lead to 4-1.
The home side remained in control during the closing stages, with Henristot Kawaya adding a fifth goal.
La liga managed a late consolation through Siphosethu Matha, ending the match 5-2.
The victory sees the Black Cats moving up to fourth place on 48 points after 25 matches, while La liga remains third with 50 points from 27 games.
