GEORGE NEWS - The Safa Eden Regional Men's League champions Black Cats FC lost 2-0 against Clarewood JPM in their ABC Motsepe Provincial League game played on Saturday 23 April at the William Herbert Sports Complex in Cape Town. In the first leg they played a 2-2 draw at the Lawaaikamp Stadium in George.
Clarewood JPM is one of the best teams in the league boasting seasoned players such as their skipper, Mario Booysen (34), a former Premier Soccer League player.
Booysen has played professional football for Ajax Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Supersport United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs. Another Premier Soccer League player in their team is Franklin Cale (39), who has vast experience and is a competent left-footer.
He started his soccer career with Ajax Cape Town and then moved on to Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Clarewood JPM is trying to reach the top four in the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League stream A while the Lawaaikamp giants Black Cats are battling for survival in the relegation zone. Black Cats have two remaining fixtures, Jomo Powers FC and Santos FC, which will be played in George.
Zizwe United are sitting comfortably at the top of the table with two fixtures remaining. Last weekend their hard-working centre forward, Mpho Erasmus, continued his fine form as the goal scoring machine, netting three goals against the struggling Gansbaai City.
