But now, his involvement in the Masters Champions League, a T20 tournament to be played in the United Arab Emirates and boasting some of the sport’s marquee names has seemed to stoke his competitive fires once more.
“Who knows the MCL could be a platform back into the international game,” Smith, who will play for the Virgo Super Kings in the competition, was quoted as saying in an interview with The National newspaper following the player auction this week.
